TOP TIPS to stand your ground
- Remember you're not alone. Most teenagers don't do drugs or get drunk (we've even got the research to prove it)
- Make up your mind: Work out where you stand on sex, drugs and alcohol so that you know what you want to say next time.

"I heard that stuff is cut with cement,
if I squeeze you can we tile my kitchen with your nose??'
|
- Relax. Say no firmly and clearly, without making a big deal of it.
|
"Umm, naah, I plan on sleeping before next week'
|
- If things feel tense, make a joke of it - humour can often clear the air. Check out the FRANK generator for more RANDOM EXCUSES

"Yeah, then maybe we could throw old batteries at shopping trolleys. Exactly how bored are you?"
|
- Knowing your own mind, and being clear about what you will and won't do, will earn the respect of those around you - even if it doesn't seem like that at first. And if you're really under pressure, think about finding some new mates to hang out with. Real friends don't force you into doing things you're uncomfortable with.
- Everyone worries about what other people think of them - even your mates. But at the end of the day, it's only your opinion of yourself that counts.
